Canal Dock Boathouse
new haven - 2018

A new mixed-use structure to house a community boathouse for fixed and sliding seat rowing and small sailing craft; offices and classrooms for cultural/history organizations.
An unusual feature of this project is the incorporation of the historic Adee Boathouse entry portal/stair tower with its elaborate terra cotta, masonry, windows and stair which has been salvaged in its entirety for this purpose.
GWG is currently designing the University of New Haven’s Marine Science Center as a tenant fit-out in the boathouse. This project will consist of approximately 3,800 SF of first floor space for public outreach programs involving aquaculture as well as UNH collegiate aquaculture education facilities with mezzanine classrooms.
